Step 1. What Voltage Do I Need?

The first step in determining the voltage your application needs is to identify the maximum voltage that the system can safely operate at. Once you have identified the maximum voltage, you can then choose a battery with a voltage that meets or exceeds this number. For example, if your application requires a maximum voltage of 24V, you would need to choose a 24V battery or higher. Choosing a higher voltage battery will provide more power and longer run times, but it may also be more expensive. Ultimately, the decision of which voltage to choose depends on your specific needs and budget.

Step 2. What Capacity (AH) Do I Need?

Next we are going to take a look into how much capacity in amp hours (Ah) you need. If you are replacing lead acid or AGM batteries, you can find out how many Amp hours are being used by checking for a "reserve amp hour" number. Lead acid and AGM batteries have around 50% usable capacity, which means that if you have a 12V 100AH battery, you only have 50AH of usable power. With a lithium-ion battery, you have 100% usable capacity, which means that your 12V 100AH lithium-ion battery has 100AH of usable power. This can be a significant advantage when choosing a battery for your needs.
